Buying an eBook

It has to be said that most people still prefer to get a book that they can hold and that has actual paper pages. That said, the internet is providing something of a publishing revolution in that the popularity of ebooks is becoming more widespread month by month.

There are many advantages to ebooks over tradtional paper books such as you don’t have to pay shipping, you don’t have to wait for your book, you can search for a specific part of the book instantly and it’s the ultimate in portable.

Ebooks are often much, much cheaper than traditional books and are often on very specialized subjects. Paper books on specialized subjects always tend to be more expensive - such as text books on research subjects for college of university students for example - so you can save yourself a great deal as a student by opting for an ebook instead.

Ebooks are also very useful if you have a text-to-speech converter on your computer because it will read the book for you, effectively turning it into an audio book. Granted, most text-to-speech programs are still very stilted and often skip words, but even still, it can be useful to hear the text rather than read it sometimes.

Also, if the ebook is a reference book, it will usually contain links to sites of interest so you can go directly to that site from the book, and back.
