Internet grocery shopping
Grocery shopping has, for me, always been a chore, never a pleasure. I hate it; wandering around the aisles, getting hit by old ladies with inexplicable trolley driving methods and then there’s those people who like to stand around right in front of the thing you want, chatting about their hip operations to a panicked looking shop assistant. You have to say ‘excuse me’ about 20,000 times and then they just move a fraction of an inch so you have to slide under their usually malodorous pits to get what you want…. It all makes my blood pressure sky rocket.
So, internet grocery shopping was my salvation. I love it. I can sit and watch TV while I shop, or lie in bed and buy bread. Nobody is going to stand in the centre of the aisle with what appears to be a specially adapted and huge trolley - just wide enough that you can’t move either side of it so have to wait quasi-patiently for them to shift. No screaming kids will assault your eardrums when you shop from your own laptop. Nobody selling insurance will accost you at the doors trying to make you at least fill out a form.
The only two issues I have with it are a) the cost of delivery and b) you can’t guarantee the freshness of the perishables because you don’t pick them yourself. Ultimately, these things are worth the sacrifice to save me from the horror that is bricks-and-mortar grocery shopping. I urge you to do likewise and shop online!
